This general procurement notice updates that published in UN Development Business No. 549 of 31 December 2000.

The Klaipeda State Seaport Authority has received a loan in the amount of US$ 35.36 million equivalent from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of the Klaipeda Port Project, and it intends to apply the remaining loan proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services under this project following the international competitive bidding procedures:

  • Works: Construction of confined disposal facility (environmental mitigation measures)
  • Goods: Wave current recorders
  • Technical Assistance: Confined disposal facility detailed design

Procurement of contracts financed by the loan will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 1995 (revised January and August 1996, September 1997, and January 1999), and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, January 1997 (revised September 1997 and January 1999).

Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank's international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and/or technical magazines, newspapers and trade publications of wide international circulation and in local official gazette Informaciniai Pranesimai.

TRANSMISSION DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF SCADA/EMS FACILITIES AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS

This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business No. 540 of 16 August 2000.

The National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the Transmission Development Project, and it intends to apply part of the credit proceeds to payments under the contract for Supervisory Control Data Acquisition (SCADA) / Energy Management System (EMS) facilities and the associated communication systems.

NEPA intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for the supply and installation of SCADA/EMS system facilities and associated communication systems. It is expected that the prequalification documents will be made available on 28 February 2002.

The project would consist of the design, assembly, integration, factory acceptance testing, transportation, site storage, installation, site acceptance testing and commissioning of hierarchy unified EMS and SCADA systems, including remote terminal units, telecommunication facilities (fiber, PLC and radio), communication equipment (SDH), protocols PABX systems, network management system, network synchronization, testing equipment, training, documentation and project management. The new system shall be used to implement Independent System Operator (ISO), Transmission Company (TRANSCO), a National power pool, etc., to service the deregulated power sector.

Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 1995 (revised January and August 1996, September 1997, and January 1999), and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, as defined in the guidelines.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification documents at the address below from 0900 to 1100 hours. A complete set of prequalification documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of US$ 100. The method of payment will be by cashier's check or banker's draft or cash. The document will be sent by special courier for local addresses, and by courier services for overseas delivery.

Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below by 15 April 2002, and be clearly marked "Application to Prequalify for the Supply and Installation of SCADA/EMS Facilities and Communications Systems."

This request for expressions of interest follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business No. 550 of 16 January 2001.

The Government of Grenada has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) in the amount of US$ 5.06 million and a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) in the amount of US$ 5.01 million equivalent, toward the cost of the Grenada Emergency Recovery and Disaster Management Project, and it intends to apply part of the loan and credit proceeds to payments under the contract for the following consultancy services:

Environmental consultant

The services include:

  • The implementation of guidelines for undertaking and implementing environmental assessments
  • The establishment of monitoring guidelines, standards and regulations for environmental issues
  • The training and transfer of knowledge to designated Government of Grenada employees

The consultant should be a professionally qualified civil engineer with postgraduate environmental engineering qualifications having a minimum of ten years experience of which at least three years should preferably be relevant experience in the Caribbean Region.

The Project Co-ordination Unit, Emergency Recovery and Disaster Management Project now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants may submit expressions of interest for the above services, however, they must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, January 1997 (revised September 1997 and January 1999).
