here to learn more about Twitter and how to start using this powerful new tool.
What does this mean?
Development Business is harnessing the power of
social media to help you stay on top of all the latest tenders, notices, and awards relevant to your field. You can now follow Development Business's
hashtags online (see
table below for a full list of Development Business's
hashtags) and get an immediate feed of notices to your computer on the latest sectors you are interested in. If you see a
tweet that you want to learn more about, click on the link that appears at the end to read the full notice. The
tweets are offered free of charge, but in most cases you will have to be a Development Business subscriber to access the full notice. If you are interested in subscribing, please click
here.
What are hashtags?
Hashtags are a community-driven convention for adding additional context and metadata to your
tweets. You create a
hashtag simply by prefixing a word with a hash symbol, like this:
#thisisahashtag. They serve as a powerful tool that allows Twitter users to track information about a particular topic or event. Development Business uses
hashtags to help you stay up to date on notices by sector (i.e.
#DBMedical will help you stay on top of all the latest tenders in the medical field.) There are 42 different sectors you can follow. You can also easily follow multiple sectors at the same time. See full list of Hashtags in
table below.
How often does Development Business send out tweets?
Development Business tweets throughout the day, five days a week. Every new notice published on Development Business will be tweeted that same day.
How do I follow hashtags on Twitter?
Twitter itself offers support of hashtags at their Search Engine.
Other services such as Hashtags.org, TweetChat, TweetGrid and Twitterfall are also popular for following hashtags in real-time.
The most basic way to track hashtags through your web browser is:
1) Go to any of the sites listed above.
2) Search for a
hashtag you want to track. Include the “#” in your search. For example
#DBAgriculture.
3) Keep that page open and refresh it periodically to see the latest results. To track
hashtags on a more systematic way, you can use third party tools like
TweetDeck.
