The United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) launched DB in 1978 with the support of the:

		World Bank (WB)
		Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)
		Asian Development Bank (ADB)
		African Development Bank (AfDB)
		Caribbean Development Bank (CDB)

In 1992, a General Assembly Resolution (A/RES/52/226) mandated Development Business to be the official source for all UN procurement information.

Since that time, many new content providers have joined the ranks of DB partners:

		European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
		North American Development Bank
		Black Sea Trade & Development Bank
		Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCEI)
